He is the first horse in the barn or pasture to great you and is happy to have a job. At 5 years old, he is the perfect age for a long-term partnership and is suitable for any level of rider.

Started as a cutting horse, Poppi has all the moves! He has a lot of eye appeal, works smooth and correct on a cow, and could be developed in any direction. He has the foundation to continue cutting, is a pretty enough mover for reined cow horse, and has the cow sense and rate for roping. He is good in the box, tracks a cow, and stops strong. He is even versatile enough to pull a cart down the road for a nice afternoon buggy ride. As good as he is in the arena, he is equally as good outside – whether it be in the mountains, the desert, tough terrain or crossing water.

Poppi is confident and relaxed. He is eager to please and takes care of our five-year-old who loves riding him around the ranch. He isn’t shy on the trail and maneuvers with ease. He has an easy sitting-jog and comfortable lope. He stands quietly while being bathed, clipped, and saddled. He walks off calmly and moves up through his gaits smoothly. He neck reins, stops, backs, spins, and side passes with ease. Poppi is happy to hop in the trailer and you’ll look forward to pulling him out to ride all day!
